OUR FIGHT TO REGAIN SENIORITY RIGHTS Local 155 is fighting to restore your seniority rights. Members have been irreparably harmed by decisions made at the last round of Collective Bargaining during Tom Milne’s tenure. Many of you may have voted in favour of the last Contract Proposal which, in effect, was deceptively presented for you to support. We are now trying to undo the damage and we need your assistance in doing so. We need to show the emotional and/or financial damage losing our seniority has had on members who have a long tenure in Local 155. If you have had your income dramatically reduced since January 2007, due to a reduction in access to work for which you would otherwise have been called, we would like to use your situation to highlight the problem. If you have had other difficulties due to the stress this has caused, please let us know. The data and personal accounts will be used to emphasize the hardship this harmful Decision by Arbitrator Vince Ready has had on Local 155 members in our submission to the BC Labour Relations Board. |

Axium Update on T-4s Axium will distribute T-4s in advance of the April 30th tax filing deadline. Alternatively, tax returns may be filed without T-4s. According to Revenue Canada, an ROE can be used for tax purposes. If an ROE isn't available for whatever reason, paystubs can be used to calculate the needed fields and an estimate can be sent in with copies of your paystubs and an explanation letter stating the reason for the estimate. In this case, the letter should state that the payroll company "Axium" declared bankruptcy and that its receivers were unable to provide T-4s or ROEs. It is recommended that this option only be exercised if you haven't received your Axium T-4 by mid April. |
