In response to production shutdowns due to COVID-19, a number of studios have announced additional payments to crew beyond what is required in the BCCFU Master Agreement. These additional payments are generally earmarked for “core crew” (i.e. those regularily employed) who would have a reasonable expectation of continued employment were it not for the production shutdown. Whether or not someone was on a daily or a weekly contract doesn’t appear to affect who receives payments. Anyone expected to wrap before any additional payments were completed would only be paid until they would have wrapped.
Please Note: Some of these additional payments are not expected to be processed until sometime in April. Additional payments are generally based on minimum calls.
The following is an overview of the studio payments in response to the COVD019 shutdowns, as of March 30, 2020. This information is being provided as to the best of the BCCFU’s knowledge.
