WORKSAFEBC LOAN-OUT COMPANIES

To all Local 155 represented employees working under corporations (aka “loan-out companies”) – Update as of February 10, 2023.

Local Union representatives met with WorkSafeBC today (February 10) with regards to the WorkSafeBC changes which were announced to be effective January 1, 2023.

WorkSafeBC have informed us that WorkSafeBC registration will no longer be required for what we believe are the majority of loan-out companies working on film productions with extended coverage. More details will be provided by WorkSafeBC soon, both through an FAQ and updates to their website.

WorkSafeBC will also work with anyone who has already registered their loan-out company since January 1, 2023, in order to reverse any registration application if it is no longer required.

We will distribute the WorkSafeBC updates as soon as they are provided to us.
